What is Friday Night THROW?
We have some exciting news… TOURNAMENTS ARE BACK! We’ll be hosting yard game tournaments twice a month at a private indoor facility in the Tomball area. These will be held on Friday evenings (usually start around 8:45pm) and will be a chance for everyone to get together and enjoy hanging out and throwing bags, blocks, balls, or whatever game we decide to play. We had a beta test group play with us earlier this month and it was tons of fun, so we’re excited to unveil this to everyone now! We’ll primarily hold cornhole tournaments, but other yard games will be played some nights in order to spice things up (i.e. rampshot, blockhead, onTop, bulzibucket, etc.).
How does it work?
We have all the yard games and equipment to run a smooth and efficient tournament. You just need to show up and have a good time. We use Scoreholio as the engine to organize our tournament so you’ll be able to use that to stay up to date with when it’s your turn and where you need to be to play. There will be an entry fee to play in our tournaments that will allow us to dish out some sweet payout and prizes. We’ll even do a raffle for everyone that plays (so you don’t even have to be great at the game in order to have a chance to win something). It’s not all participation trophies though, as the top finishers are the ones that will take home a prize or cash for winning. We can almost guarantee that everyone will have a great time though — win or lose.
Tell me about the next tournament!
We’re glad you asked! We have one coming up THIS FRIDAY Aril 23rd @ 8:45pm. Doors will open up around 8:15pm so everyone has time to warm up, and we recommend you get there at least 15 minutes early to check in and get situated (the tournament should last about 2.5 hours)
We’ll be playing CORNHOLE
The format is a Switcholio (doubles cornhole with random partners for each game) 4 game round robin to determine seeding. And then a single elimination singles (i.e. no partner) bracket tournament in order to crown our winner. This guarantees you 5 games of cornhole (and more if you keep winning)! It’s a really fun format and we think you’ll like it.
Bring your own bags if you have fancy ones you like or you can borrow our standard duck cloth bags. You can also buy some pro bags from our store. We do custom designed ones!)
Entry fee is $15 and prizes will go to the top 4 finishers. First place could win up to $120* (if we have a full tournament) and we’ll be giving away other raffle prizes during the night as well.
We’ll be playing at 110 Athletes’ indoor facility. The address is 9003 Hufsmith Kuykendahl Rd Tomball, TX 77375 . The entrance is actually off of Dogwood Dr., the first entrance on the right from Hufsmith Kuykendahl Rd.
