Our story

We are a family owned and operated company based in the city of Tomball, TX. We started making yard games back in 2014 and selling them on Craigslist and to small businesses. By 2016, we felt we had refined our board designs enough to make things official. Demand was growing, so we founded Play Backyard Games and really started growing the business.

The goal for Play Backyard Games has always been about more than building and selling yard games, though. We want to be a source for high quality hand made games, but we also have a passion for playing and sharing other company’s games too. So starting in 2018, Kyle (PBG founder) was given the opportunity to focus full time on the business, so he took it.

We now build more boards and games than ever, but we have also partnered with other great companies to help test out, review, and share their games as well. The blog and YouTube channel hope to inspire many people each day to Get Outside and Play. We hope we can help you do that as well. Our mission

Our passion is playing games. We love all sorts of competition and we think everyone should get to experience the joy of winning and the agony of defeat (hopefully more of the former though). We love yard games because they are something that almost everyone can play.

Friends and family can gather and enjoy hours of tossing bags of corn onto slanted boards. Yard games allow people to have a great time throwing and jamming frisbees into kans with friends. They give kids a reason to put down phones and instead try to outlast their parents in a game of giant jenga.

It is our dream that these scenarios become true for everyone. We want to share the beauty of yard games with the world. With so much technology these days, yard games are an under appreciated activity. Our mission is to make people aware of the awesomeness of yard games and the joy it can bring to friends and families.

We hope to provide high quality yard games to as many people as we possibly can. We want to tell people about the best yard games so they can be played. We want people to start getting together, getting outside, and playing games.
